PROJECT DETAILS
We set out to create a digital archive both for educational purposes and to preserve Philip’s legacy. Philip has been painting and designing since the second World War and we were fortunate enough to catalog all 2500+ pieces of work he has created since then. We developed a comprehensive tagging and category system that allows for a robust search tool for each area of work. Post launch we filmed and produced shorts of Philip speaking about each area of work, his inspirations and his influences which we incorporated into each of the major areas of work.

I designed and developed the site, created the systems for categorization, organization, and bulk importing of thousands of records for rapid deployment of the artwork. The minimalist design and layout showcases the truly amazing artwork that has spanned decades.

After the launch of the site, we were asked to preserve the memory and artwork of Philip’s wife Dorothy Cantor. We used the same methods and site setup to digitally archive Dorothy’s work though the years. Two truly amazing artists, it was an absolute pleasure working on their sites and getting to know each of them through their work.
